This 1997 Cadillac DeVille sedan has only 1,053 km (654 miles) under its belt and costs 4 million Rubles ($55,200 USD) to buy in Tyumen, Russia.
A comparable amount of money buys you a brand-new Cadillac XT4 Sport, but of course you would be missing on all the retro charms. The seller claims the car was acquired new in the United Arab Emirates and imported to Russia by sea, after which it was sealed in a garage and never used again. A recent maintenance saw all the liquids replaced and all the aging-prone parts carefully diagnosed for integrity.
The 5.3-meter long ride is reportedly in superb condition with an intact, clean, scuff-free velour trim inside. It even has a digital dashboard that functions seamlessly. There is no leather, however, and the seat adjustment panel is a stub, suggesting that the trim level is lower than the topmost ‘Concours D’Elegance’.
The seventh generation of the car came out in 1994 and stayed in production until 1999 (watch the video for an overview). In 1996, Cadillac started equipping it with 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engines rated at 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW) and 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) depending on the modification. The car on sale uses the latter, stronger engine. A 4T80-E four-speed A/T drives the front axle.
