Next-gen Cadillac Escalade premiere date announced

Cadillac will be unveiling the newest iteration of its Escalade SUV on February 4, 2020, a few days ahead of the Chicago Motor Show. The reveal will take place in Los-Angeles.

From what little we know on official terms, the new Escalade comes based on the T1XX platform of the Chevrolet Silverado and sports multilink rear suspension, which can be upgraded with air shocks.

Based on the spy shots available so far, the exterior is no longer as edgy as before. The headlights are no longer vertical, and the radiator grille now sports scales instead of horizontal fins.

The cabin trim looks similar to that of the Escala Concept. We expect the novelty to boil down to a fixed-position gear joystick and a digital dashboard combined into a single screen with the multimedia display.

Nothing is being revealed about the engine, but rumor has it the 2020 Cadillac Escalade will ship with a choice between a 3.0 Duramax diesel, a 3.0 V6 TT, and a 6.2 V8. A few electrified options are also expected.
