Cadillac is seriously looking into building a special edition of its Escalade SUV, which would belong in either the V or the Blackwing performance line. The final decision has not been reached yet.
Dave Schiavone, Cadillac Global Product Manager and head of the Escalade Project, admitted that the customers keep asking the company to produce such a car. If it ever reaches production, it might do so with the Blackwing engine of the CT5-V performance sedan under the hood.
Unlike the German premium automakers, Cadillac is not going to offer performance-oriented versions of every last one of its all-wheel-drive cars. For one, the company wants to make it official that there will be no high-end editions of the XT5 and XT6.
