Escalade to become Cadillac’s last ICE vehicle

Following up on General Motors announcement that all Cadillacs will become full EVs by early 2030s, the company has now revealed some new details.

As it turns out, the fuel-powered XT4, XT5 and XT6 SUVs will be the first to retire in 2025-2026. Lyriq EV, which is shown in the video here, will replace the XT5, and similar models will be offered to those interested in the other two.

The CT4 and CT5 rear-wheel-drive sedans will make room in the lineup for electric saloons in 2026 and 2027. The gas-powered Escalade will linger in production until 2030, but its electric twin will arrive as soon as 2024 based on the new Hummer chassis.

Finally, Cadillac Celestiq will crown the range as a flagship four-door EV with no ICE counterpart. To an extent, the car should fill in the gap left by the CT6 model discontinued two years ago.
