AddArmor has rolled out a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade ESV, encasing the entire off-roader in B6-grade ballistic armor and transforming its interior into something more appealing.
Everything concealed behind the standard bodywork has been basically made from scratch, the company claims. The windows, the floor and the ceiling are as protected as everything else is. The car boasts run-flat tires and has an audiovisual alarm system installed.
The interior resembles that of a luxury limo. The second row has been pushed as far back as it would go. All seats feature heating, ventilation and massage functions along with deluxe trim materials. There are curtains on the windows, a minibar, and an infotainment system on board. The partition wall separating the driver’s side from the cabin has two pull-down seats mounted on it.
AddArmor says the armoring cost around $80,000, while the interior makeover put another $75,000 on the bill. Sourcing the car and individual parts for it came in at another $100,000. If you factor in all other costs and expenses associated with the project, the grand total runs close to $300,000 USD.
