Rumor: Cadillac Escalade facelift coming with a 55-inch display

The current-gen Cadillac Escalade (see video) will be getting a mid-life refresh later this year, GM Authority reports adding that the model may inherit a number of features from the company’s flagship EV, the Celestiq. A giant 55-inch dash screen is on the list, too.

Right now, the driver’s cockpit of the Escalade houses a trio of displays summing up to 38 inches of diagonal size. These include a 7.2-liter dash screen, a 14.2-inch instrument cluster and a 16.9-inch multimedia display. They are all built into a single frame, but stand alone from each other.

The Celestiq also offers three separate displays, but they are installed closer to each other and look like parts of a single large panel spanning the entire dash width. As such, we may see a similar solution implemented in the Escalade soon. Chances are good that Cadillac will find a way to cripple the specs so as to distance the SUV from the all-electric flagship.

In the meantime, camera-wielding car spies have already snapped images of the 2024 Escalade. GM Authority says one of the prototypes had a characteristic bulge under the wrap where its dash panel was supposed to be, a telltale mark of a big dash display. The center console and the trim materials also looked different. The one thing that remains completely unknown is whether the engine range will get revised at all.

Note that Cadillac has yet to comment on these reports.
