Cadillac has shared a photo and a short video previewing the upcoming battery-electric version of its Escalade SUV. The model will get the suffix ‘IQ’ and will debut on August 9, 2923.
Judging by the image, the front fascia will preserve certain design traits of the gas-powered original, including the vertical DRLs, but it will still be different. The faux grille has a light signature on it, and the company logo is illuminated as well.
The video is slightly more informative with a brief glimpse of the rear end with a spoiler and brake lights, a panoramic roof and a large dash display.
Cadillac pointed out that the production would begin at the Factory Zero industrial complex in Detroit, next to the facility that produces the GMC Hummer EV. All other details remain to be revealed. It is assumed that the SUV will run on Ultium platform and therefore come closer to the all-electric Lyriq and Celestiq models in terms of underpinning tech than the ICE Escalade.
