Cadillac readies next generation of Escalade for release in 2020

The Cadillac Escalade has been around since 2014 and has remained virtually unmodified throughout the entire term. According to the company, things are going to change in 2020, when the next generation of Escalade hits the streets.

Reportedly, Cadillac is currently working on the exterior design of the vehicle. No further details have been provided with respect to its appearance.

On the other hand, the manufacturer has announced an update to its engine palette. Two more engines will be made available in the next generation, a 4.2-liter turbo V8 with 500 hp (373 kW) and its stronger counterpart with 550 hp (410 kW). Release plans also include a hybrid variant of the vehicle.

The current generation of Cadillac Escapade ships with a 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of 420 hp (313 kW). This engine will most likely remain available in the next iteration of the series.
