Cadillac’s pioneering all-electric SUV, the Lyriq, has hit the assembly lines in Spring Hill, Tennessee, USA. General Motors execs took part in the launch ceremony and shared some specifics about the vehicle, highlighting the importance of electrification.
GM President Mark Reuss said the Lyriq was a new milestone for Cadillac, which is now undergoing electrification. He added that the SUV was a game-changer, setting a new standard for all future premium EVs. He highlighted its original design as the main selling point.
The electric car has 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) at its disposal and runs on a 100-kWh traction battery rated at 300 miles (483 km) of range. Charging rapidly for just 10 minutes replenishes enough power for another 75 miles (120 km) of driving.
