Cadillac spied testing a full-size SUV EV, most probably

The Lyriq EV is Cadillac’s only production car running on batteries at this moment, with the Celestiq flagship set to join the range in late 2023. However, the test vehicle spotted in Wyoming the other day looked very convincingly like the marque’s another unannounced EV, despite lacking a visible badge.

Note the overall body proportions of the car in the gallery below, its outlines, headlight mounting points and door handle shapes – everything says ‘Cadillac’, doesn't it? Judging by the sheer bulk of the SUV, it could be the battery-electric equivalent of the Cadillac XT6. The latter is a seven-seater coming in at over five meters (16.5 feet) long. As such, it is shaping up to occupy a market niche above the current Lyriq model.

Like the Lyriq (see video), the newcomer could offer a choice between two electric powertrains rated at 345 and 510 PS (340 and 503 hp; 254 and 375 kW, respectively). The standard traction battery size for the former is 102 kilowatt-hours.

Cadillac’s plans for the next few years involve introducing three all-new, still-to-be-announced electric cars, but they will not go into production until 2024 or later.
