Cadillac XLR gets reimagined as a vintage droptop limo

Canadian tuning shop Palazzi Motorcars has rolled out its latest creation – the Godfather Roadster, a retro-inspired build with a Cadillac XLR at its core.

According to the seller, it took nearly 80,000 USD to turn what was essentially a sports car based on the sixth-gen Chevy Corvette into a ride worthy of a mafia boss. The most expensive part was lengthening the frame and the wheelbase at the front end: the goal was to push the cab as far to the back as it could go for that authentic 1930s-era convertible look.

Aside from the wheelbase, the car received all-new bodywork but retained its original suspension, automatic hardtop and 324-PS (320-hp / 238-kW) eight-banger. The odometer shows around 18,000 km (11,000 miles) of use.

The bidding has been slow on Bring-a-Trailer so far, with the best offer at $11,500 right now, but there are still three days until the end of the auction.
