Oshan, a premium sub-brand founded by Chinese automaker Changan in 2018, has revealed a new SUV named X7 Plus.
The company would have you believe it is a brand-new and standalone model, but the reality is that it is just an upmarket spin on the regular Oshan X7 that has been available for two years now (watch the video if you need a reminder). The newcomer has little to show for being special, aside from overall body styling, two-tier headlights, a redesigned front grille, and new brake lights.
At 4,730 mm (15.52 ft.) long, the X7 Plus is 25 mm (1 inch) longer than its predecessor. It is also 1,870 mm (6.14 ft.) wide and has 2,786 mm (9.14 ft.) of inter-axle spacing. Wheel measure 19 inches across.
The cabin remains to be revealed. Our bets are on a digital dashboard, a large touch-enabled multimedia panel and quality trim materials throughout. A seven-seater variant is not altogether out of the question. As for the driving aids, adaptive cruise control and automatic parking come to mind as the most obvious base equipment.
The car will soon make its Shanghai show debut and will go on sale later this year. The current-gen Oshan X7 retails between 77,700 and 129,900 Yuan.
