Changan has unveiled a modified version of its coupe-like CS85 SUV. The main highlight is a new 1.5-liter Blue Whale engine coming to phase out the car’s outdated engine of the same displacement.
The exterior makes do with partial updates: the radiator grille has been retouched slightly and the 19-inch wheels look a bit different now, but that’s it.
Major changes made it into the infotainment software. The graphics and UI have been optimized, device integration improved and new online services made available in the update. For preferences, you can now choose between displays 10 and 12.3 inches large.
Like before, buyers can choose between engines 1.5 and 2.0 liters large. Like we said above, the 1.5-liter option is new and makes 188 PS (185 hp / 138 kW) with 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque, a bump of 10 hp and 35 Nm from before. The 2.0-liter mill still produces 233 PS (230 hp / 171 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. The smaller engine works in tandem with a seven-speed DCT, while the larger uses an eight-sped auto gearbox. Both drive the front axle with no option for AWD.
Prices lie within the range of 119,900 – 137,900 Yuan for the 1.5L version and 147,900 – 164,900 Yuan for the 2.0L variant.
