Oshan, a sub-brand of Changan, has launched sales of its X5 SUV targeting younger audiences.
In line with its market positioning, the newcomer boasts a massive front grille with sparse vertical bars, 19-inch wheels (20” optional), an aero kit and sleek body outlines.
From the technical perspective, the Oshan X5 shares the platform with the Changan Uni-T that debuted this spring. It drives the front wheels with the help of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is seven-speed semi-auto, and AWD is not available even as an option.
The equipment list mentions adaptive cruise control, collision prevention, lane control, 360-degree cameras, and a multimedia system with Internet access.
Prices in China range from 69,900 to 102,900 Yuan (10,650 – 15,675 USD).
