Chinese car manufacturer Changan has uploaded some new photos of its second-generation CS35 SUV series. The vehicle will enjoy its public premiere late this summer and go on sale in China in the coming fall.
The shots make it clear that the Changan CS35 compact SUV series has had a major facelift. It now sports a more formal, but at the same time more solid-looking design with a narrow radiator grille combined with a pair of new LED headlights. The massive front bumper has a bottom guard made of silvery plastic, and there is a chrome fillet cutting the front fascia through the middle.
The rear part of the next Changan CS35 has also sustained considerable change. The rear lights now span across the entire rear end, the roof holds a spoiler wing with a brake light on it, and the red rear fog lamps are now hidden in the chrome-coated fake pipe openings.
There is even more novelty in the new Changan CS35 than that, though. For one, its wheel arches are no longer rounded but rectangular. For the other, each of the arches carries a cat’s eye reflector – not something you would see on a common car every day, that’s for sure.
As for the interior, there will likely be a new dashboard – maybe even a digital one – a new steering wheel and a refreshed fascia design. Base options will include an infotainment system with a touchscreen display, a climate control unit and a number of electronic assistance features.
Among other things, the next-generation car will be 165 mm (6.5”) longer, 15 mm (0.6”) wider and have a 40 mm (1.6”) longer wheelbase. It will still ship with the old 1.6-liter gasoline engine good for 117 hp (87 kW).
