Reports: Changan CS75 to retire in 2025

Changan may want to permanently retire its CS75 crossover in three years’ time, replacing it with a more modern SUV temporarily known as the C928.

Judging by the tenders the automaker is currently participating in, there is a major upgrade going at the factory. In November 2021, Changan announced a tender for wielding robots, and a month after that, it was looking for press die checking tools.

This year, rumor spread that the company was launching a dedicated assembly line to produce a new SUV called the C928. The line incorporates two dozen press dies and seven control equipment units. According to Cheshi, the actual production will begin in a few years from now, and a year later, the new model will have completely phased out the old CS75.

Reportedly, Changan expects to sell 240,000 units of the C928 annually. The CS75 currently moves in comparable quantities. In all likelihood, the rumored vehicle will be an off-roader capable of competing with the likes of the Geely Atlas and the Haval H6. Chinese media speculate that it may start from 130,000 Yuan.

The Changan CS75 exists in two main versions on the domestic market, the FL and the Plus. The latter has recently stepped into the next generation. It remains to be seen whether the lineup would get any major revisions until 2025.
