Changan CS95 Plus bows in China

Changan has announced the pricing and specifications of its updated CS95 model, which will be sold with the ‘Plus’ suffix. CarNewsChina reports that the prices lie within the range of 175,900–199,900 Yuan.

The SUV is 4,949 mm long, 1,940 mm wide and 1,805 mm tall with 2,810 mm between the axles, making it only marginally shorter than the Hyundai Palisade. Compared to the pre-facelift, the Plus has a more up-to-date radiator grille design with a 3D pattern. It also sports a different front bumper with vertical LED stripes at the sides, altered headlights and four exhaust tips at the rear instead of two.

Novelty inside boils down to a minor redesign of the center tunnel. The 10.25-inch dash display and the 12.3-inch head unit with voice command support stay the same. According to the company, the voice assistant now supports natural dialogue mode. Surround view cameras and Level 2 self-driving are also available.

The new CS95 Plus will ship strictly as a seven-seater. Folding down the second and third seat rows will grant you around 2,000 liters of luggage space.

A 2.0-liter turbo four-pot under the hood produces 234 PS (231 hp / 172 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. An Aisin eight-speed automatic transmission comes to replace the old six-speed one. The drive can be on the front axle or both.

For the time being, the company plans to sell the standard CS95 and its Plus version side-by-side.
