Changan launches Yida/Lamore affordable sedan

Changan has started the sales of its new saloon called Yida (or Lamore) in China. Despite being advertised as affordable, the car boasts a vivid exterior inspired by the automaker’s Uni lineup to which it is not formally related.

According to CarNewsChina, buyers have three trim options to choose from, but only one engine. The prices start from 89,900 CNY.

The newcomer is 4,770 mm (186.3 in) long with 2,765 mm (108 in) between the axles. On its domestic market, the car will be available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch auto without any further options. The top speed is capped at 200 km/h (124 mph).

Opting for the base spec gets you LED lighting all around, 16-inch wheels, climate control and an infotainment system with two displays 10.25 and 13.2 inches large. The system supports voice commands and displays the feed from the rear-facing camera.

Paying extra unlocks 17-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, surround view cameras and a wide number of driving aids. The top trim level comes with 18-inch wheels, a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system and an ionizer for the HVAC. It costs 110,900 CNY.

The first shipments will be made in March, Changan says.
