2022 Changan Uni-T teased ahead of launch, gains power

Chinese automaker Changan has posted some photos of an upcoming flagship version of its Uni-T SUV, complete with styling and power upgrades. Autohome claims it will become available later in December.

The old Uni-T shown in the attached video shipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 188 PS (185 hp / 138 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. The new one benefits from a Blue Whale series four-cylinder engine with two liters of displacement, 233 PS (230 hp / 171 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed Aisin automatic delivers the torque to the wheels, and launch control is included in the base spec. Acceleration times remain to be announced.

The new Changan Uni-T will be marketed as a sportier alternative to the old version. To that end, it offers new exterior finish options, new wheels, an optional black top, a rear spoiler, and bi-color aero kit accents. The interior probably stays stock.
