Changan is preparing to launch an affordable sedan called the Lamore, which will be styled similarly to the rest of the manufacturer’s Uni lineup and come equipped with a turbo-four engine pumping out 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW).
The exterior resembles that of the Uni-V liftback (see video). The similarities extend as far as the radiator grille, headlights and front bumper. However, the Lamore sports a traditional sedan body style with a more modest-looking rear end.
Sized 4,770 x 1,840 x 1,440 mm with 2,765 mm between the axles, the Lamore is larger than the Uni-V. It sits between Toyota’s Corolla and Camry models in terms of size.
As a wallet-friendly car, the Lamore is set to ship with a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission will be seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. In comparison. the Uni-V is a more upmarket model packing 187 PS (184 hp / 138 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque.
The sale start remains to be announced.
