Check out a big rig that serves as a two-story house on wheels for an elderly couple

Motorhomes are often built from buses and vans, sometimes upon pickups and from panel vans, but Clayton and Teresa decided to go big and travel in a semi.

The video fashions the conversion “a tiny and cozy home”, but that’s probably only if you go comparing it against immovable real estate. For a mobile home, this one is by no means wanting for space. It rides on as many as 18 wheels and features a garage in the back housing a motorbike, a jet ski and everything needed for on-the-go repairs and maintenance.

There is also a kitchen with as many as three cookers – two induction stoves and a microwave – as well as a spacious fridge, a tabletop convection oven and a wooden table surrounded by chairs decommissioned from a cinema hall.

The cinema itself also happens to be on board – or would you propose a different name for the living room with a 75-inch TV set on the wall? The opposite wall can be dropped to form a balcony with a convenient access ramp, by the way.

As for the investment, the couple reckons they spent roughly a quarter of a million USD on the whole thing, including the semi with the trailer part, the assorted furnishings, the appliances and the work. The only downside of traveling in a motorhome of this size is its lack of maneuverability on the streets. As such, it lends itself best to travelers who like to drive less and stay in picturesque locations more.
