Ian Callum, a renowned car designer best known for his work or Jaguar, has unveiled some 3D renderings of his upcoming electric buggy, the Skye. It only exists in these sketches right now, but a production vehicle is scheduled for premiere next year.
With the Skye, Callum Designs wants to present a new perspective on the whole ATV segment of the market. Although technically an off-roader first and foremost, the buggy nonetheless handles exceptionally well in cities, too.
The vehicle is 4,047 mm (158.1 in) long and weighs 1,150 kg (2,535 lbs). Its body is coupe-like and the 2+2 passenger cell is fully closed. The lower doors boast see-through sections.
A stainless-steel space-frame takes the load of a 42-kWh traction battery. Callum promises 270 km (168 miles) of driving per charge with an option for a bigger battery pack coming later. As for the drivetrain, all we know is that it comprises two motors installed one per axle. The specifics will be announced next year.
