Rectangular transports such as buses and trucks may not look the sexiest, but they lend themselves perfectly to motorhome conversions thanks to an abundance of interior space. This particular truck was used to load food into planes, but a Southwest Airlines pilot was able to buy it from the company for just $3,300 and started building an affordable camper out of it.
He ended up spending seven months and as little as $30,000 on the project. The underpinning platform is that of a 2000 Ford F-650 heavy duty truck, and the whole RV is around 9 meters (30 feet) long. It is also quite a heavyweight at 11,340 kilos (25,000 pounds). One of its coolest features is that the food lift is still fully functional and can elevate the living area above the surrounding scenery. Another one is a finish dubbed Fighter Jet Grey – the owner used to fly fighter jets, too.
A peek inside reveals a spacious shower cabin, a stove with two burners, a sink, a fridge with a freezer, and a dormer window equipped with power blinds for convenience. The list goes on to include a table and a couple of chairs, an audio system, a bicycle rack, another shower cabin for outside use, and more.
