This 1998 Stewart and Stevenson M1088 has long since abandoned its military service and now serves as a comfortable living space for a family of five.
At a glance, the truck looks almost unchanged from the original until you notice the extendable walls used to maximize the interior space while camping. The magic begins inside. The interior is full of windows and hatches allowing large amounts of natural light to come in. The main space is occupied by a kitchen featuring a sink, a mini fridge and a four-burner stove. The entire dining area transforms into a bedroom whenever necessary. The rear end houses two bunk beds and a storage room for books, clothes and school supplies.
A 600-Ampere-hour battery pack grants the on-board appliances a whole week of smooth operation away from civilization. 2,600 watts worth of solar panels help top up the battery during sunny days. A diesel heater keeps the temperature inside comfortable in every season. The family keeps foodstuffs, tools, bikes and other belongings on board.
