U.S.-based company Grounded has gotten its hands on a BrightDrop Zevo 600, an all-electric commercial van used by FedEx, and turned it into a home on wheels for up to seven passengers. The result is called ‘Grounded G2’ and can be ordered from $195,000.
The exterior stays unchanged from the original, which you will find in the attached video. Even with all the camping stuff on board, there is 17 cubic meters (600 cu. ft.) of space available, so the company offers a choice of multiple living area layouts for customers to choose from depending on their needs.
The list mentions different beds for two, dining areas, sofas, WC/bathroom units and kitchens complete with a sink, a stove and a fridge in the most basic version. Once constructed in the configurator, the camper components get installed on special rails so that they can be moved or deleted even after the purchase.
Power for the Grounded G2 comes from a pair of electric motors of unknown rating and a 165-kW Zevo 600 battery pack rated for 400 km (250 miles) of range. A separate 10-kWh battery is provided for the appliances on board. It can be charged from the main battery in a pinch, but normally receives its juice from roof-mounted solar panels on sunny days.
