Chery’s future flagship car presents cabin

We already know that the upcoming Chery Tiggo 9 SUV destined to become the Chinese brand’s next flagship comes with 250 horsepower under the hood, a DCT gearbox and all-wheel drive. However, these spy shots enable us to catch a glimpse of the car itself, including the interior.

Apparently, the soft-roader is getting a multi-tier front panel dominated with a large dual display and housing large air vents. Two wireless phone chargers can be seen on the prominent center tunnel hump, and a three-spoke steering wheel squared off from below will be present, too.

Curiously enough, the spec sheet that leaked earlier indicate that the number of driven wheels will be determined by the number of seats inside. The five-seater will be FWD only, while the seven-seater will be AWD by design. Both will be powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 254 PS (250 hp / 186 kW). The five-seater will also keep its spare wheel in the trunk, while the seven-seater will have it mounted under the bottom.

Chery’s largest SUV so far is expected to debut at the Guangzhou Motor Show later this month.
