According to AutoHome citing its own sources, Chery intends to expand its electric car lineup with an upmarket large saloon capable of 600 km (373 miles) of range. Other plans of the Chinese manufacturer include introducing a new sub-brand with its own car architecture that will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds flat.
The company’s New Energy subdivision is reportedly busy designing both cars right now. The first sedan to reach the market could be called ‘RadTen01’, as the images added to the China Ministry of Industry database seem to suggest. It will sport a sleek body with smooth lines and typical Chinese boomerang headlamps. A giant display spanning the entire dashboard width will dominate the interior.
The RadTen01 was patented with a total body length of 4,875 mm (190.4 inches) and a wheelbase of 2,920 mm (114 inches). The only electric motor revealed so far is rated at 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW). The battery capacity is unknown. Going forward, Chery might want to turn ‘RadTen’ into a standalone brand, AutoHome reports.
The other car discussed will be based on the more up-to-date E0X platform supporting 800V power architecture and enough batteries for 700 km (435 miles) of range. Charging for ten minutes replenishes up to 200 km (124 miles) of range, and sprinting from zero to 100 km/h takes only three seconds. This prototype might distill into a premium production sedan wearing the Exeed badge, sources report.
Both four-door EVs are slated to reach the market in China next year.
