Chery has patented the exterior of a sedan that might come out with the Exeed badge, run on electric power and fight for the same market niche as the Tesla Model 3, AutoHome reports.
The car is provisionally known as the E03. It has a sporty coupe-like body with a slanted roof, slim headlights and Pixel LEDs in the front bumper. The taillights are styled as a single thin stripe. The handles are flush with the door panels, and there is a LiDAR hump where the roof meets the windshield.
The approximate length is stated as 4,950 mm and the wheelbase is around 2.9 meters. Nothing is said about the motors. AutoHome believes the model may debut at the upcoming Auto Shanghai show and go on sale in late 2023.
Car spotters nabbed down a prototype tested on public roads last summer that looked much like the car on the patent images. Chery planned on installing new CATL batteries into its cars to extend the electric range to 700 km (435 miles).
The company has simultaneously posted images of another similar-looking vehicle, but never provided any details. The front fascia looks different, the c-pillars are wider and there is a new rear diffuser. While it might be another take on the E03, it may also be a high-end car set to debut in 2024 under the badge of the Chery New Energy division.
