Chery announces the EV with the lowest drag ratio ever

Chery is designing an electric vehicle with the lowest coefficient of aerodynamic resistance (Cd) in history. The car is still a concept at this stage and lacks a proper name; it is unclear when or whether it may reach production.

Judging by the images released, it is a coupe with a slanted roof, novel lights all around and an unusual design. It looks very little like any other Chery vehicle and resembles… the tuna fish, according to the car company.

The engineering team employed artificial intelligence in designing a body with a record-low wind resistance. The company says over 2,000 car body optimization scenarios have been studied, reworked and either partially adopted or discarded. In the end, the prototype was put into a wind tunnel and reportedly showed 0.168 Cd there – the lowest drag of any car designed to date.
