The Chery eQ7 is a mid-size SUV set to go on sale in China in the second half of the year priced between 150,000 and 200,000 Yuan (21,800 and 29,000 USD). Here are its first official photos.
The vehicle uses a new platform that the manufacturer says lets it weigh 25% less than conventional EVs. This is accomplished through multiple technical solutions, including widespread use of aluminum.
The spec sheet says the eQ7 is 4,675 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,660 mm tall with 2,830 mm between the axles. It has two-tier headlights and bumper designs that echo each other. The default wheel size is 19 inches.
Power for the wheels comes from a single electric motor rated at 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW) with no further options. The top speed is capped at 180 km/h (112 mph), and Chery stays silent regarding the sprint times. The traction battery on board uses LiFePo4 cells, but its capacity and range remain to be revealed.
The official interior sketches found in the gallery below are just that – sketches. You can tell that there is a multimedia system display recessed into the dash panel and a tall console between the seats, but the rest will take another look to see.
