Chery will be releasing two crossover SUVs under its Omoda sub-brand that will both be larger than the recently introduced 5 model (a.k.a. C5).
The corresponding announcement was made during a presentation held by Chery in Kazakhstan. The company elaborated that two more SUVs would join the Omoda 5 at least on that country’s market. They will be called the 7 and the 9.
You can see the Omoda 5 in our gallery and video here. There was no direct confirmation that the Omoda 7 or 9 would actually be larger than the 5, but this naming principle tends to work with the vast majority of cars produced today, so we are pretty confident here.
At any rate, one of these upcoming SUVs has been recently sighted in China running pre-production tests. It looked like an Omoda 5 that traded its coupe-like body for a more classical SUV shape. As for the Omoda 9, everything hints that it will be the flagship of the range.
