Chinese automaker Chery plans to start selling three more of its sub-brands in Europe: Exlantix, Jaecoo, and Omoda. According to The Automotive News, the company will consider localizing the production there if it wins a considerable portion of the market.
All three new badges are expected to begin their operation in the EU before 2026. Each one will be offering three different models for sale at first. The Omoda 5 (see video) will be the first to hit the showrooms in ICE and EV flavors, followed by the Jaecoo 7 and the Exlantix sedan.
The Chinese company had looked into opening a factory complex in Europe before; the first time was in 2017. It has since stayed silent about those plans, having apparently lost interest. It is now official that Chery will try to gauge customer interest in the region first and decide whether to proceed with the factory plans or not.
It is unclear how many vehicles will be produced for the Old Continent and how/when they will be sold.
