The Chinese carmaker has published some official images of its upcoming flagship SUV without any camouflage on. The car is still being referred to by its factory designation – T26, although the media in China seem to agree it will go on sale as the Tiggo 9.
The newcomer will be technically related to the 4.8-meter-long Exeed Yaoguang that debuted not long ago. However, while the latter was revealed as a coupe-like five-seater, the Tiggo 9 opts for a boxier, roomier seven-seat body style. It also comes with matrix LEDs for headlights and 20-inch wheels.
The tech will be largely identical to that of the Yaoguang. It is already official that a 2.0-liter Kunpeng series turbo engine will be available, although it remains to be seen whether it will produce 261 PS (257 hp / 192 kW) like it does in the Yaoguang. On that car, the transmission is eight-speed automatic and drives all wheels.
A full premiere is expected to take place in a few weeks or months, with the sales set to begin in China in the first half of 2023. The local media estimate the starting price at $29,000 USD.
