Rtech Fabrications, an auto shop based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, USA, has turned a rare and old Chevrolet pickup truck into a monster it calls the Ponderosa.
The team fitted a 47-year-old Chevrolet Crew Cab with a 5.9-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine taken straight out of a 1996 Dodge Ram. It then upgraded the mill with a better turbocharger, new pistons, camshaft, injection, downpipes, and exhaust. As a result, the car now sends 550 hp (410 kW) along with a whopping 1,763 Nm (1,300 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.
The cabin, including the wheel, the dashboard and the controls, has been completely overhauled with great attention to detail. The trim on the seats is new, but it looks like the original thing, and the audio system also gives off retro vibes.
The Ponderosa is available to buy for U.S. $150,000.
