The SEMA show has always been a desirable event for many automakers to showcase various post-sale upgrades for their cars. It is, therefore, strange that General Motors should miss this year’s expo.
Media noticed earlier this week that the SEMA participant lineup on its official website was missing Chevrolet. When asked for comment, GM replied that it would skip the show this time. No reasons were provided.
This means GM joins Ford and Honda in their decision to ignore SEMA. The latter to companies explain that their corporate strategies have changed. Ford pointed out that it had to review its approach to the show presentation format in order to advertise aftermarket upgrades and tuning packages efficiently.
