One-off V8-powered buggy hits auction

The Reboot Buggy is a formidable off-roader with 63.5 cm (nearly 25 inches) of suspension travel and 400 horsepower heading for the rear wheels.

The vehicle is said to be completely functional with 18-inch wheels shod in 40-inch Yokohama Geolander tires. A Warn winch is provided for the most difficult situations.

The cabin looks impressively unprotected for what is supposed to be an extreme ATV, and seats two people. Power comes courtesy of a 6.3-liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. It makes 406 PS (400 hp / 299 kW) and only drives the rear wheels.

The dashboard is about as bare-bones as they come, with little to show besides a couple of digital gauges. With under 2,000 kilometers (1.242 miles) under its belt, the Reboot Buggy looks to be in pristine condition. It has the necessary lighting to become street-legal, but isn’t – and it’s not where most of us would want to drive it, anyway.
