A new seven-seat compact van named Chevrolet Wolanduo, jointly developed by General Motors and the SAIC Group, will enter the market in China in autumn of 2018.
Chevrolet Orlando seems the most likely prototype for the new vehicle. Both share the beltline, the window shapes, the mirror design – they even have similar-sounding names. On the other hand, their fronts look completely different from each other.
The Chevrolet Wolanduo will mainly target young audiences looking for a bit of variety and functionality. SAIC GM promises that the car will “break the established stereotypes” and offer an “extremely practicable” experience.
Wolanduo might also inherit some of the deisgn traits from the Chevrolet Blazer. Among other things, it has the same radiator grille shape that expands towards the bottom. Perhaps the company will also give the two cars the same or similar bumper design.
The engine palette proposed by the SAIC-GM conglomerate consists of gasoline engines 1.0 to 1.3 liters large, working in conjunction with manual or automatic transmissions.
Prices for the Chinese seven-seat Chevrolet Orlando will be announced later.
