ICON wants U.S. $265,000 for this Chevrolet K5 Blazer restomod

ICON finished the restoration of this classical Chevrolet Blazer (K5) as long ago as 2015, but is still looking for buyers. A revival of the SUV series that first came out in 1969 comes with a hefty U.S. $265,000 price tag, so maybe that is why.

Don’t get us wrong: the scope of the project is vast, and building restomods can be crazily expensive. On the other hand, maybe they should have taken an advance payment. We don’t know, so we won’t judge.

The elderly Blazer comes powered by a modern 6.2-liter LS3 V8 by General Motors (430 hp / 321 kW and 575 Nm / 424 lb-ft in stock form). A four-speed automatic transmission and an Atlas II transfer case distribute the torque among all four wheels. Modern disc brakes are used to cope with the power.

Other notable exterior features include 17-inch American Racing ATX wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich 315/70/17 rubber, Fox Racing shocks, Currie roll stabilizers, and Atlas springs. Other than that, the car looks mostly pristine, unless you count the removed sidebars and the spare wheel at the back.

The cabin of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer comes padded with a handcrafted leather finish and houses a climate control system, backlit running boards, a modern speaker set, heated seats and other 21st-century amenities.

What do you think? Is it worth the asking price?
