Chevrolet Blazer EV detailed specs revealed

Chevrolet unveiled the range-topping Blazer EV SS (Super Sport) last summer along with a police car based on it, but neglected to mention any more affordable variants. Now that sales are finally starting in the USA, Car and Driver was able to get the specifications from a dealership.

Apparently, both Blazer EV variants going on sale soon with have all-wheel drive. One of them is called 2LT AWD and starts from U.S. $56,715, while the other one is called RS AWD and can be had from $60,215. Both utilize the same dual-motor powertrain rated at 288 PS (284 hp / 212 kW) and 451 Nm (333 lb-ft) of torque.

For perspective, the Blazer SS flagship makes 557 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 648 Nm (478 lb-ft). It still remains in the plans, though, with the production postponed by around half a year to spring 2024.

In July, Chevrolet reconsidered its release schedule and ditched the entry-level 1LT spec that it had planned to offer from $45,000. A front-wheel-drive 2LT model will be coming in 2024 to replace it; its power and torque remain unknown.

As for the range, it is already official that the 2LT AWD offers 449 km (279 miles) on a charge and the upcoming 2LT FWD offers 472 km (293 miles). Yet another version, called RS RWD, will max out the range with 515 km (320 miles) per charge. According to Car and Driver, it will also be the most expensive of all Blazer EVs at $61,790 and above.
