Carefully brushed-up 49-year-old Chevrolet Blazer nearly hits $100k at auction

Many of us believe that most modern SUVs and crossovers lack the individuality classic cars had. A glance at this 1972 Chevy Blazer goes a long way to proving that point.

The off-roader rocks a new engine along with completely restored body and cabin. The exterior paint scheme is dark olive green with chrome details and a foam-white hardtop. The resulting clean and tidy look is further accentuated by a matching set of white rims wrapped in 31-inch all-terrain tires.

The upholstery inside follows the same color scheme. The equipment list mentions a modern AC unit stylized to look vintage, a wide center console with cup holders, and a Kenwood audio system.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine tuned by Miller Racing Engines and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The power figures aren’t there, but far be it from us to suspect that a bespoke build like this could be underpowered.

The seller admitted that the odometer only showed post-restoration mileage and that the true mileage of the car was lost to the ages. As fine of a restomod as it is, however, someone bid it to $93,500 a couple of days ago and was quite happy with the purchase.
