Tuners imagine a modern Chevy K5 Blazer

The classic full-size SUV known as the K5 Blazer was first released in 1969 and still enjoys a cult following of sorts. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a car like it in decades. The team over at Flat Out Autos decided to go “What if?” and build a modern rendition of the classic Blazer on the shortened Chevy Silverado chassis.

The project took several months to complete, but the result is a vehicle looking like it could easily have been made by Chevrolet itself. The wheelbase and the bed have been additionally shortened to put a stronger emphasis on the two-door cab, and 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires slotted into the arches. The suspension has been rebuilt with dirt racing in mind.

Only one seat row remains in the cab, but that’s because the rear seats have been moved to the bed. A removable carbon-fiber roof is included for those rainy days.

True to its ways, Flat Out Autos has also upgraded the engine, installing a Whipple supercharger and replacing the exhaust system with a Vance and Hines unit. The output has not been revealed so far.

It is also unknown how much the work cost, but the company is taking orders for similar conversions, so you can just ask.
