A short video has gone viral on Twitter showing a driverless Chevrolet Bolt stuck at a traffic light. The software must have been softlocked in some way, because the car ceased to respond to the road situation around it and forced other drivers to go around it.
Witnesses have reported the self-driving taxi prototype just standing in front of the traffic light, ignoring it completely and not attempting to move. The author of the video, Kelly p., says the hatchback spent at least ten minutes sitting in his line of sight. For what it’s worth, it did flash the emergency lights to warn other drivers about the malfunction, but made no attempt to drive to a curb.
In the end, a mechanic was seen arriving on the scene, trying something with his notebook, then getting inside the car and driving it away the old-fashioned mode.
