Several years ago, Michelin unveiled a Chevrolet Bolt show car shod with a pre-production set of Uptis airless tires. The set is now officially reaching the market with the next-gen Bolt EUV.
Alexis Garcin, one of Michelin executives, made the corresponding statement in an interview to CNN. He specified that the launch will happen in 3-5 years when the next iteration of the Chevrolet Bolt goes on sale.
An airless tire looks completely normal from the outside, but contains soft spokes inside that are pushed out whenever there is a puncture, closing it automatically.
