Video: Chevrolet C10 does its best rat impression

Check out this ancient General Motors pickup truck. Sagging suspension, a rotten front bumper, peeling paint and shoddy repair work – jalopies don’t get much worse than that, right? But let us not jump to conclusions.

Earlier this week, we reported about a U.S. based car shop called Level 7 Motorsports. The shop churns out one neat restomod after another, and Chevrolet C10 models are their specialty. This specific one is said to be in perfect driving condition, and its exterior is just masquerading as a barn find. It’s called rat look, and professionals deliberately create it using pro tools.

The tech aspect of the project is no less interesting. The vintage ride packs a modern LM7 V8 with 5.3 liters of displacement, dual Turbonetics chargers and a plethora of other upgrades. It sends 550 horsepower to the wheels (410 kW), out of which around 450 hp (336 kW) should actually get there. Sports-grade brakes and air suspension round things off impressively.

The flashy C10 has already attended a few shows and caught plenty of envious looks. Once the world comes to its senses after the pandemic, it will likely continue its show tour.
