Illinois-based Roadster Shop has unveiled its latest creation – a 1974 Chevrolet C10 pickup restored to peak condition with modern tech under all the metal.
The biggest novelty resides under the hood and is a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine borrowed from the old-gen Chevrolet Corvette. The unit makes use of forged camshafts and connecting rods, aluminum pistons and a modern-era 8AT sending the torque to the wheels through a diff lock. The output is said to be a ‘bit higher’ than the stock 455 PS (449 hp / 335 kW), so we assume roughly 500 PS (492 hp / 368 kW).
The suspension is likewise all new with Fox 2.5 adjustable shocks, and the brakes have been upgraded to match the higher performance. As for the interior, it sports the same tender green finish as the body with some fake wood on the dashboard and overall retro styling. Purists will know to appreciate the lack of digital displays and other immersion-breaking modern elements.
