Banks Power took a 1966 Chevrolet C20 and turned it into a restomod worthy of being exhibited at the SEMA show. You will be challenged to find anything stock here.
Starting with the main highlight of the build, the truck now packs a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel driven by a huge Whipple supercharger and linked to a 6-speed Allison gearbox. The mill churns out between 600-650 horsepower in its normal state, which is already very impressive for a diesel, but using the supercharger and a nitrous oxide system on board boosts it to nearly 1,000 hp.
From the aesthetic point of view, the pickup is a typical ‘rat’: artificially aged exterior goes side-by-side with modern tech and perfect technical condition. 22-inch chrome wheels create a nice contrast with the rust-hued body and sit deep inside their wells thanks to air suspension. The exhaust pipes exit from the sides, and the bed can now be tipped with a press of a button.
A look inside the cab reveals an expensive leather trim and a metallic dashboard frame with modern digital gauges.
