Chevrolet Nighttrain tow truck overshadows the Ferrari F328 it carried to SEMA

The Ferrari 328 restomod by Casil Motors was a frequent show star this year. It has attended at least three major auto shows in the USA, including the SEMA 2019, wearing a different wheel set every time. This did not prevent its spotlight from being stolen.

Maybe the supercar grew too familiar to the audience. Maybe the audience itself was more sophisticated at the SEMA. Whatever the case, most of the attention went to the Chevrolet Nighttrain – a custom tow truck and restomod that carried the F328 to the show.

CTP Concepts has designed and built the one-off truck based on the 1968 Chevy C50 pickup. Aside from the all-new cargo bed, it boasts such modern niceties as air suspension, a high-end Duramaxx diesel engine under the hood, and a spacious Crew Cab. The latter is by no means standard, either, since Chevrolet hasn’t started to produce these until 1973. CTP Concepts took the 1970 Chevrolet Suburban cab, extended it to four seats / four doors, and redesigned the front fascia to fit the C50 style.

The project took up much time and resources, but the end result proved well worth it. Perhaps the best thing about the Nighttrain is that it is a fully functional and actively used tow truck and not just a show exhibit, like the F328 it carried to the SEMA.
