Russian tuner attempts to bring a 30-year-old Chevy Camaro up to date

There is an interesting ad on the Russian online marketplace Avito, offering a third-generation 1987 Chevrolet Camaro redesigned to look like the most recent, fifth generation. Let’s throw a glance at this controversial attempt at tuning.

According to the current owner of the car, the job is still incomplete. Apparently, he just grew tired of working on the vehicle and felt like selling it to someone who cared more. He is asking for a mere 450,000 RUB (U.S. $6,486) for the dated ride.

So what does this kind of money buy you? Well, there is new FRP bodywork, power steering, leather-draped seats and wheel, GPS, an MP3 player, automatic gear shifting, the stock 2.8-liter V6 engine and around 190,000 kilometers (116,200 miles) on the odometer.

In all likelihood, the car has zero upgrades under the hood (at the very least, none are listed in the ad).

On the one hand, the front fascia and the sides of the car do bear a certain resemblance to those of the most current Chevy Camaro. On the other hand, the rear looks sourced from the even-older Camaro Gen.2. Overall, the design falls short of being impressive.
