The Mk5 Chevrolet Camaro hit the market in 2010 and was praised for its retro design cues. However, this particular example went much farther with a cosplay of the 1969 Camaro SS.
The base vehicle is a Camaro 1LT with the optional Synergy Special Edition pack installed – hence the green livery with dark grey stripes running down the middle. The owner must have felt it was not enough, though, because they put a whole SS-inspired body kit on the car. This included round headlamps, a black front grille, chrome accents here and there and ‘SS’ badges.
A glance at the rear end reveals darkened taillights and chrome on the exhaust tips and the bumper. The interior mostly follows the same color scheme and flaunts a fashionable black and white leather trim on the OEM seats.
Powering the retromod is a non-turbo 3.6-liter V6 rated at 308 PS (304 hp / 227 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox conveys the power to the rear wheels, and the mileage counter shows well under 30,000 miles (50,000 km).
If you were to ask us, we would find plenty to criticize in this project. However, the ad that listed the car for sale for $30,000 USD disappeared a few hours ago, suggesting that someone appreciated it enough to pay the asking price.
