Lingenfelter manages to power up the Camaro Z/28 in a turbo-free fashion

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 debuted eight years ago as a facelift and is no longer on sale, but many still appreciate it for being one of the most driver-oriented Camaros ever. Lingenfelter has now found a way to make it even more powerful without any forced induction.

In its factory guise, the sporty coupe packs a seven-liter V8 capable of 512 PS (505 hp / 377 kW) and 652 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. The tuner upgraded the cylinder head assembly to a new CNC-machined, perforated and polished part, which enabled raising the boost pressure to 11.5 to 1. The same approach was used to fabricate the throttle housing, larger fuel injectors were installed as well. When all was said and done, the output rose to 669 PS (660 hp / 492 kW).

The company neglected to mention pricing and acceleration numbers, but let it slip that those who didn’t need as much power could opt for a simpler version of the tuning resulting in 638 PS (630 hp / 470 kW).
